OVER TWENTY YEARS OF COMMITMENT
Bringing an aquatic center to Tracy has been on top of resident’s minds for the past 20-years. Residents desperate for a place to bring their children for swim lessons, or swim team, or just a place to cool off in the hot Central Valley summers voiced their desire for an aquatic center. Tracy City Council in 2005 appointed a citizen “Aquatic Task Force” to work with Tracy Tomorrow and Beyond Committee to review the plans and sites for an aquatic center.
The Aquatic Task Force, with the support of the City of Tracy, later asked Ellis developer Surland Companies to assist with the aquatic center efforts. Members of the task force formed the Tracy Concerned Citizens for an Aquatic Center to campaign for the passage of Measure V designed to help fund public amenity projects like the aquatic center. The council appointed Aquatic Task Force has never been disbanded by the city.

Meet TCCAC Member Sandi Taylor:
“I thank the Tracy Tritons and all of our swimming community advocates. You have been fighting for an aquatics center for so long. Those were the people who were knocking on doors to make sure that Measure V passed.”
